Dear Sir,
I hold a PhD in Language and Linguistics from University of Essex, England (1987) and an MA in Linguistics and Phonetics from the same institution in (1985).
I have been teaching at university level for over thirty years. I taught in different universities including Syria, Libya, and Saudi Arabia, and now at Lund University, Sweden.
I have published widely in national and international refereed journals. My refereed papers and translations topped 30. You may check my CV, please.
I have translated extensively in the field of Language and Linguistics, Theory of translation, and even Medicine. I have translated over 30 books. My translations in the field of speech and linguistics include the translation of "Speech Science Primer" by Gloria Borden et al, "The Speech Chain, by Denis Pension et al, "Knowledge of language" by Noam Chomsky, and most importantly " An encyclopaedia of Language" by N. E Collinage, which falls in more than one thousand pages.
In 2011, I won "The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques International Award in Translation" for translating "Clinical linguistics" by Louis Cummings into Arabic.
Over the years, I have taught many different courses. These include: phonology and phonetics for Postgraduates as well as under graduates, Syntax, Morphology, Translation etc…. In fact, I taught most of language and linguistics courses in addition to Translation courses. You may check my CV, please.
I have supervised many MA theses; and was member of many PhD students committees.
My main interest is language and linguistics with special reference to English and Arabic linguistics; but my hobby is translation. Sometimes a hobby may overcome the main interest.

Till 2020, I was the Dean of College of Languages and Humanities at Ebla Private University, Aleppo, (Syria) and an adjunct professor at Aleppo University (Syria) where I taught postgraduate courses only.
