Syrian University Informatics Competition
Cordoba Private University held Season 5 of Syrian University Informatics Competition SCIC at Aleppo Chamber of Commerce on Saturday, September 21, 2024.
With the presence of Eng. Ali Hamoud, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Lara Kadid, President of Cordoba Private University, and members of the scientific and organizational committees responsible for the competition, with the participation of students of the faculties of information engineering from private and governmental universities in the city of Aleppo, in addition to the Higher Institute for Applied Sciences and Technology, in cooperation with the National Union of Syrian Students, University Branch, the Syrian Scientific Society for Informatics, and the National Bank for Microfinance.
At nine o'clock in the morning, the competition schedule started, with the participating teams being introduced to the competition mechanism, after which the competition began and continued until two o'clock.
After that, the scientific committee, which includes faculty members from all participating entities in the competition, evaluated the results and announced them in Al-Khwarizmi Hall at the Faculty of Informatics Engineering - University of Aleppo.
The honoring ceremony began at 3:00 o’ clock with a minute of silence in honor and respect for the souls of our righteous martyrs, followed by the recitation of the national anthem of the Syrian Arab Republic.
After that, a promo was shown about the programming competition, after which the university president, Dr. Lara Kadid, delivered her welcoming words to the honorable attendees:
-Dr. Muhammad Qasim Al-Abdullah, Vice President of the University of Aleppo for Open Education, representing the President of the University of Aleppo, Professor Maher Karman
-Engineer Ali Hamoud, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Cordoba Private University
-Dr. Fahd Farhoud, Head of the Teachers Syndicate at the University of Aleppo
-Professor Nidal Al-Sayed Al-Atassi, Director of the Higher Institute for Applied Sciences and Technology
-Major General Amin Hamdan, representing the Assad Academy for Military Engineering
-Engineers Abdullah Al-Hamad and Hussein Hamid, members of the Syrian Engineers Syndicate
-Engineer Hani Barhoum, Head of the Engineers Syndicate in Aleppo
- Colleague Mahmoud Khalil, Head of the Cordoba Private University Branch of the National Union of Syrian Students
-Deans of colleges and faculty members in private and public universities in Aleppo
-Professor Suhail Khawatmi, Member of the Board of Directors of the Syrian Scientific Society for Informatics
-Mr. Majd Al-Din Munir, Director of the Aleppo Branch of the National Bank for Microfinance
-Ms. Nour Shamia, Public Relations Advisor at Aleppo Chamber of Commerce
After honoring the members of the scientific and organizing committee teams, the results of the first three places were announced.:
